HC Petroleum Equipment is currently hiring a Process Engineer with a specialization in natural gas processing system design. This role will support our growing portfolio of early-stage crude oil production projects and help deliver high-performance, reliable solutions for clients in the oil and gas sector. The position is based in China, with remote support options available for qualified candidates.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead the design and optimization of natural gas processing systems, including wellhead facilities, separators, and compression units. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in gas treatment, familiarity with upstream production operations, and the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary, multicultural team.

Key Responsibilities

Design, simulate, and optimize natural gas processing systems for early-stage crude oil production

Conduct process modeling and steady-state/dynamic simulations using professional software tools

Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and technical specifications

Ensure all designs comply with relevant international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and project-specific requirements

Participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and SIL assessments, and provide improvement recommendations

Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and piping teams for complete engineering integration

Provide technical support throughout procurement, fabrication, and commissioning

Evaluate process economics and propose cost-effective and efficient solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline (degree must be equivalent to an internationally recognized qualification)

Minimum 3 years of experience in process design related to natural gas or upstream oil and gas facilities

Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or ProMax

Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in an international environment

Fluency in English is required; Chinese proficiency is a plus but not mandatory
