Vertical Surge Tank & Transfer Pump Skid Delivered for Oilfield Liquid Handling Operations

HC recently supplied a Vertical Surge Tank together with a Transfer Pump Skid for an overseas oilfield project. The equipment has been delivered to the client’s production base and is currently being prepared for field installation.

The client operates several mature wells with fluctuating liquid production and occasional gas-liquid surges. Their on-site handling system required an interim buffering solution to stabilize flow before transferring the collected fluids to downstream processing facilities. The previous setup had limited surge capacity and often led to pressure variations in the transfer line.

To address this issue, the client requested a compact, skid-mounted package that could be quickly mobilized and integrated into the existing production layout.

HC designed and supplied a Vertical Surge Tank paired with a heavy-duty Transfer Pump Skid.

Vertical Surge Tank

The tank provides temporary retention for produced liquids, allowing free gas to disengage and stabilizing the inlet flow. Its vertical design reduces the footprint—important for the client’s limited site space—while offering sufficient volume for surge absorption.

Transfer Pump Skid

A multistage centrifugal pump driven by an electric motor ensures consistent discharge pressure and reliable transfer of produced fluids to the client’s central processing facility.

The pump, valves, instrumentation, and piping are fully assembled on a steel skid, enabling fast deployment and simplified maintenance.

This configuration is commonly used in early production facilities, well testing operations, flowback, and general produced-liquid management. Its modular design helps operators reduce site installation time while improving system flexibility and operational reliability.

HC continues supplying customized equipment for oil and gas applications, including separators, heaters, filtration packages, transfer systems, and integrated production skids tailored to different field environments.
