Flare Knockout Drum Successfully Commissioned at Kazakhstan Natural Gas Wellsite Project
Recently, a flare knockout drum manufactured by HC has been successfully installed and commissioned at a natural gas wellsite project in Kazakhstan, providing reliable support for the safe and stable operation of the site flare system.
As an essential safety facility in oil and gas surface production systems, the flare system is mainly used for plant start-up and shutdown, emergency pressure relief, and gas venting during abnormal operating conditions. In actual natural gas field operations, the vent gas often carries condensate, oil droplets, and other liquid impurities. If these liquids enter the flare system directly, they may lead to unstable combustion, liquid accumulation in pipelines, and abnormal flare tip performance.

To meet the project’s operating requirements, HC supplied this flare knockout drum as a key front-end unit of the flare system. The equipment is designed to separate and collect entrained liquids from the vent gas stream before it reaches the flare header, ensuring a cleaner and more stable gas flow to the flare system while improving overall operational safety.
The supplied unit adopts a horizontal vessel design and offers several practical advantages:
High separation efficiency for entrained liquids
Compact structure suitable for limited wellsite space
Stable operation with convenient maintenance access
Adaptable to harsh outdoor environments with wind and temperature variation
Reliable performance for continuous oilfield service conditions

From fabrication and quality inspection to international shipment and on-site delivery, the HC project team followed each stage closely to ensure smooth project execution. The unit is now operating steadily at site and has received positive feedback from the client.
In recent years, HC has continuously provided oilfield surface equipment solutions to customers in Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other international markets. Our product range includes separators, metering packages, heating equipment, flare systems, and skid-mounted process units.
HC remains committed to delivering dependable equipment, practical engineering solutions, and responsive service to support energy projects worldwide.
